Spectrum performs Tuesday at Faust Park

One of our favorite private event bands that play free concerts is Spectrum. We had the pleasure of interviewing Spectrum’s vocalist, Melanie Roper; bassist, Sean Scales; and drummer/manager, Tim Callihan. They talked about the variety of music they play, what sets them apart from other bands, why they like playing free concerts, and what it’s like working with Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce.

Here’s what is happening this week on the Free Concert scene.

The 2014 summer free concert season is in full swing!

After enduring a brutal St. Louis winter, we’re ready to be outdoors enjoying the great musical entertainment our hosts, sponsors and bands so generously provide. The spring months of April and May featured a good number of shows including Twilight Tuesdays at the Missouri History Museum, Jungle Boogie at the Zoo, Parties in the Park in Clayton, Music on Main in St. Charles and others. We’ve also already had a large number of fairs and festivals around town.

In this first week of June, more great venues kick off their summer concert series. Here’s a sampling of what’s going on during the next seven days. Please note: We’re still adding events; we recommend checking the website for a more accurate and up-to-date listing.
